He has some good ones on the CD and on his first CD Sunny Summer Daze. Glad you liked it. His music is my go to CD’s when I am out boating.

  2. Nick says:

Check out Gunther Martin’s song “The Ballad of Jimmy Buffett” from his CD Live a Little

  3. Ralph Kinsley says:

Check out Cat. 5 Blues or The Hurricane Song!

    • Tammy Camp says:

Ralph, I don’t mind you promoting your own music, but keep it relevant please. This is a playlist about Florida Keys and Key West. If you’ll notice, the songs actually talk about the Florida Keys and / or Key West. Thanks.

  4. Doug says:

I take that back. I missed Don’t Hurricane Michelle. Great pick!
Bike Ride Around the Island should have also been on the list.

    • Tammy Camp says:

Great thoughts Doug! Totally Agree about Don’s Key West Connection CD, great album. “Bike Ride Around the Island” is also a great song, I thought the song seemed more focused on enjoying time with the one you love than focused on Key West. But, I get where you’re coming from, the backdrop of the song is Key West! So, it probably would have been a good addition. I did put a notation next to that song to think about putting together a Trop Rock playlist of Love Songs :-) Maybe it’ll be on a Valentines Trop Rock playlist? Also, check out our Key West playlist here https://www.troprockin.com/trop-rock/trop-rock-songs-key-west-playlist/ – we did spotlight Don’s song “Everyone Matters” from the Key West Connection CD.

Thanks Doug for participating and pointing out another great song.

Quick note to all our readers: Don’t be shy to tell us what we’ve missed and recommend songs you feel should be part of the playlist. The thousands of people who read this article can get even more out of it with your recommendations too!

  5. Doug says:

    Wow!
No Don Middlebrook? His Key West Connection CD was the only other disc for sale in the Key West Margeritaville other than Jimmy Buffets.
He was also 2nd to Howard Livingston last year in the Trop rock artist of the year. Haven’t heard of many of the others.

    • Tammy Camp says:

Doug, This is a great time to check out the other singer / songwriters you haven’t heard of yet! Steve Tolliver has been nominated 3 or 4 times for a TRMA Award and he won Songwriter of the Year last year. Latitude has won the Duo of the Year award multiple times and Michelle (of Latitude) has won Female Vocalist of the Year 3 or 4 times. John Friday won the Horizon award last year and if Rob Mehl hasn’t won an award yet, that’s a shame (I couldn’t remember if he has!). Jim Morris may very well be the most popular Trop Rock artist on the Florida Gulf Coast probably in a tie with Sunny Jim :-) These are a fine group of Trop Rockers. Check ’em out!

  6. Ann says:

Tammy, love your review of the Trop ROCKIN’ songs! You have a few of my favs listed in there. For another great one, listen to ‘Keys Disease’ by Captn Jac! Another Florida local.
