Singer/Songwriter Captain Josh was the 2011 TRMA Horizon Award winner and Gigmasters 2007 & 2008 Rising Star Award winner. Capt. Josh really has his USCG captain license using it for pleasure more than work these days unless he is writing about his adventures. Playing the tropical songs we expect and doing some southern tropical twists adding a banjo to share stage with steel pans is a staple for Capt. Josh’s music. He plays trivia and brings a punch line to his songs that get the audience involved with a part to act out or even during one song the ladies toss their hotel keys on stage (I have seen a few men do this too). Capt. Josh shares the song “Luperon Glue” with us taking us on an island adventure we never want to leave.
Luperon Glue is the first song I wrote. It’s about a small port town on the north shore of the Dominican Republic, a sailors haven while in transit to the Caribbean. It is so beautiful that parts of Jurasic Park were filmed there. The saying goes that if you go to Luperon you will be stuck by the Luperon Glue. My wife and I were hired to sail a 34′ boat from Luperon back to Florida. The song is about our great adventure!
