What is the Best Champagne for Jello Shots?

For every champagne cocktail, I always recommend a Brut champagne, but for jello shots I’m reversing my position! Champagne jello shots are much better with a sweet flavor than a dry flavor.

The sweeter champagnes are labeled as Extra Dry, Dry, and Demi-Sec, Moscato or use a Prosecco. Any of these add a sweetness to these New Year’s Eve jello shots.

#1 Champagne Jello Shot Recipe – No Vodka

These fun jello shots do not use vodka or lemon lime soda. These are a really easy champagne jello shots recipe that also tastes amazing.

Unflavored Gelatin: You’ll need 1 box with 4 envelopes of unflavored gelatin.

Champagne: Use 1 cup of the champagne of your choice. Again, a sweeter champagne makes better jello shots. Try a Moscato or Prosecco sparkling wine.

White Grape Juice: Use a 1/2 cup of white grape juice, which adds a lovely sweet and fruity flavor.

Water: All you need is a 1/2 cup of water.

Sprinkles: Gold sanding sugar or gold sprinkles for garnish.

#2 Champagne Jello Shot Recipe with Vodka

This second champagne jello shots recipe also includes vodka for a boozier jello shot. Here’s the ingredients list:

Champagne: Use 1 1/2 cups of a sweeter sparkling wine such as a Moscato or Prosecco.

Vodka: Use a 1/2 cup of smooth vodka that doesn’t have a harsh bite.

Sugar: Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to add a little more sweetness to the champagne shots.

Unflavored Gelatin: You’ll need a box of Knox brand jello that comes with 4 envelopes of unflavored gelatin.

Lemon Lime Soda: 2 cups of Sprite or 7up. Sprite is a little sweeter than 7up. The soda adds even more bubbly and a citrus component that balances well with champagne. You can also use ginger ale, as the slight ginger flavor also taste delicious.

Sprinkles: A must have! Sugar sprinkles to edible glitter, champagne jello shots need to have a little sparkle on top. This recipe uses a mixture of edible gold stars and white stars.

Directions for Champagne Jello Shots with Vodka

Champagne jello shots are a fun and fancy adult jello shot. This recipe makes 12-15 jello shots when using 2 oz mini shot glasses.

Here are the step-by-step directions:

Step 1: Combine Champagne, Vodka, Sugar and gelatin in a medium saucepan.

Step 2: Heat on low to medium heat while stirring the gelatin mixture until all the sugar and gelatin dissolves.

Tip: Do not let the mixture boil as the alcohol will begin to evaporate.

Step 3: Remove from the stove and pour in the lemon lime soda (Sprite, 7up or Ginger Ale).

Step 4: Let the mixture cool for several minutes.

Step 5: Line up the mini plastic cups on a baking sheet. This makes it easier to move the jello shots in and out of the refrigerator easier.

Can I Make Champagne Jello Shots Ahead of Time?

Absolutely! There’s so much to get done on the day of hosting a party and the good news is you can make champagne jello shots several days in advance.

Store them in your refrigerator until time to serve. All you need to do is place the lids that come with the plastic jello shot cups on top of the jello shots. This will keep them in an airtight container until you are reday to serve them to your guests.
