Christmas Marshmallow Pop Ingredients
Here’s all the ingredients you need for these cute Christmas marshmallow pops:
MARSHMALLOWS: I use regular-size marshmallows for this treat, but you can use large marshmallows or 1-2 jumbo marshmallows if you’re looking to make a bigger pop.
WHITE ALMOND BARK: You could also use the chocolate white candy melts instead of the almond bark. Use whichever you prefer.
RED AND GREEN CANDY MELTS: Grab any of these options at the grocery store or craft store and be sure to follow the directions on the package for proper preparation.
CHRISTMAS SPRINKLES: Sprinkles add a little extra sweet crunch and add to their festive Christmas look. I used snowflake sprinkles and red, white and green sprinkles.
What Do Candy Melts Taste Like?
They’re typically vanilla flavored. These treats have a hint of sweet chocolate taste to them, similar to white chocolate.

Kitchen Tools
- Piping Bags: Don’t have any piping bags? No problem! You can use squeeze bottles or a ziiploc baggie with a small hole snipped off a corner to decorate with the melted chocolate.
- Bamboo Skewers: You can also use a candy stick or lollipop stick. But remember, if you’re using any of the larger marshmallow options, you will most likely want to use bamboo skewers so they can hold the larger marshmallows easily. Most lollipop sticks or treat sticks are too short to hold regular or jumbo marshmallow.
- Baking Sheet
- Waxed Paper
- 2-3 Microwave Safe Bowls or a Double Boiler
- Spoon or Spatula
- Knife
Recipe Instructions
Christmas marshmallow pops are quick and easy. Here’s the step-by-step directions:
STEP 1: Line the baking sheet with waxed paper.
STEP 2: Then skewer 4 marshmallows onto the end of the stick using a twisting motion and lay them on your baking sheet. Be sure not to push the stick all the way through the top marshmallow so you have a clean, flat top.
STEP 3: Next, melt the white chocolate melts according to the directions on the package in a microwave safe bowl.
Typically, you should heat in 30 second intervals and stir the chocolate, Continue until the chocolate is smooth. Don’t overheat because if the candy gets too hot, it will seize. You can also melt chocolate in your double boiler if you prefer.
Pro Tip: Add 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help make the chocolate more pourable if it gets too hard.
STEP 4: Use a spoon or spatula to dip the white chocolate and pour over the marshmallows. Hold the marshmallow stick over your bowl so the excess chocolate falls back into the bowl. Use your spoon to spread the chocolate all over the marshmallows. Don’t forget to do the end of the top marshmallow too.
STEP 5: Place the Christmas marshmallow pops on the wax paper and allow to dry completely.
STEP 6: In separate bowls, melt the red and green candy melts according to package directions ensuring not to overheat the chocolate. Again, typically you should heat the candy melts in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until it is smooth.
STEP 7: Transfer the melted chocolate wafers into individual piping bags or sandwich baggies. Snip a bottom corner of the piping bags. Make sure it’s a very small hole so the melted candy comes out in thin lines.
STEP 8: Adding one color at a time, drizzle melted candy over the chocolate covered marshmallows.
STEP 9: Add sprinkles on top while the chocolate is still wet so they stick well. I used these red, white and green sprinkles first. Then placed about 5 snowflake sprinkles (you can find them here) on top of each marshmallow pop, lightly pressing them into the melted chocolate.
STEP 10: Allow the marshmallows to rest on waxed paper until the chocolate is hard.
STEP 11: Use a knife to help pop the marshmallow treats off the wax paper once they’ve hardened.
STEP 12: If you are gifting these Christmas Marshmallow Pops, simply wrap in cello bags and tie a ribbon around the bottom.
How Do You Store These?
To keep your marshmallow Christmas treat nice and fresh, store it in an airtight container at a cool room temperature. Be sure to place parchment paper between them if they are stacked on top of each other. You can keep them for up to 5-7 days.
I wouldn’t suggest putting them in the refrigerator or freezer, as this will dry out the marshmallows.
If you plan to give this easy treat to friends or family as a gift, let them know how long they’ll be good for.
Christmas Marshmallow Pops are a fun and festive dessert idea that will soon become a family tradition to enjoy each holiday season. Watch out, everyone will want you to bring them to all the holiday parties!
