Ingredients
Who knew a Christmas Rum Cocktail could be so delicious and easy? Here’s all the ingredients you need:
GREEN HAWAIIAN PUNCH: This berry punch is a mix of several fruit juices such as kiwi and strawberry.
COCONUT RUM (or Spiced Rum): Use your favorite coconut rum. My favs are Malibu Rum or Parrot Bay. The little coconut flavor mixed with the fruity juice makes a great cocktail. If you’re not into coconut, then use Spiced Rum. It also tastes delicious in this Christmas Rum Cocktail.
CORN SYRUP: Rim the cocktail glass with corn syrup so the sprinkles will stick to the rim. You can also use simple syrup, but the corn syrup is a little thicker making it easier to work with.
CHRISTMAS SPRINKLES: Adds a really festive spirit to this Christmas Rum cocktail.
How to Make a Green Christmas Rum Cocktail
STEP 1: Add a few tablespoons to a shallow saucer and dip the rim of your glass (these martini glasses on Amazon work perfectly) or roll the rim around until you have a good coating.
STEP 2: In a separate small plate, add the Christmas sprinkles. Roll the rim of the glass in the sprinkles until covered.
STEP 3: Fill your glass with ice cubes.
STEP 4: Pour in 1 shot of coconut rum.
STEP 5: Top with Green Hawaiian punch.
Variations
- Add more fruity flavors with pineapple juice.
- Use a spiced rum instead of a coconut rum.
- Add a splash of ginger ale to make it a little bubbly.
Large Batch Christmas Rum Cocktail
If you need a festive holiday cocktail for holiday parties, then making a large batch with this simple recipe is the way to go!
It all depends on the size of your punch bowl or pitcher. For every 5 ounces of Green Hawaiian Punch, you need 1.5 ounces of rum (a standard shot). Measure out how many ounces your container will hold, then simply figure out how many shots of rum and punch you’ll need to fill your punch bowl or pitcher.
If you have a 1 gallon container, it will hold 128 ounces. So add 13 cups of green punch and 2 cups of rum. This will leave a little extra room so there isn’t any spillage and you can spruce it up with orange slices or fresh cranberries for a pretty garnish.
Can I Make this Drink Ahead of Time?
Yes! You can make a pitcher full the day ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator. Give it a good stir before pouring into your prepared cocktail glasses, like these martini glasses to give it a fun and festive look.
It’s the time of year for festive cocktails and this Christmas Rum Cocktail will delight your friends and family. It’s bright, fun, an easy recipe and tastes delicious.
Cheers and Happy Holidays!
