Best Lunch in Key West is at Salute!
Reasonably priced and on the beach in Key West? It can happen!
There are just a few restaurants on the beach in Key West. Thankfully, Salute! is the spot for excellent food, a beach view and an affordable lunch menu.
I’ve traveled to Key West over 40 times in the last 10 years and I’ve had plenty of mediocre, high priced meals geared toward the tourist dollar. Maybe it’s because Salute! is off the cruise ship tourist areas or they really believe in an excellent restaurant experience? Maybe it’s both. Either way, they’ve made a positive impression every time I’ve stopped in for lunch. Often eating here two and three times a trip!
Just like their sister restaurant, Blue Heaven, you can count on a quality meal. Blue Heaven is one of my favorite spots in all of Key West (especially for breakfast), but I really enjoy the beach front atmosphere of Salute!.
Salute! touts itself as a Caribbean take on Italian classics. I haven’t ventured into the Italian Classics. When I’m in Key West, I crave seafood.
I highly recommend the Shrimp Salad Sandwich (pictured top). Full sized shrimp in a wonderful creamy sauce, deveined and cooked to be tender, not tough. The chef has perfected this dish.
Recently, my friends dinning with me ordered a good ‘ol American burger. The reviews from both of them were outstanding. Most lunch dishes come with their signature potato salad, which is wonderful.
Go for the laid back beach atmosphere. Go for the quality food. Go for the view.
