Is There Apple Flavored Jello?

If you’re accustomed to the traditional Jell-O brand, you probably know there isn’t an apple flavor. But, thankfully, Sonic and Jolly Rancher have both put out a green apple jello flavor!

What Does Apple Crown Taste Like?

As soon as you crack open the bottle you can smell the strong apple aroma. The flavor is a bright green apple mixed with the traditional Crown Royal whisky flavors of light caramel and vanilla.

It’s sweet, but not too sweet. Taking a straight sip of Crown Apple, the whisky flavors are evident first which is then followed by a lingering, light green apple flavor. 

It’s a smooth whisky made with real Gala apples, although I believe the flavor is more a mix of sweet and tart like a green apple.

Crown Apple Jello Shots Ingredients

All you need are three main ingredients to make these jello shots. Then choose a fun garnish to top them off.

Here’s your ingredients list:

• 1 Box of Sonic Apple Jello (3.94 oz)
• 1 1/2 Cups of water
• 1 Cup of Crown Royal Apple Whisky
• Fresh apple slices (optional garnish)
• Maraschino Cherries (optional garnish)

 

Kitchen Equipment Needed

• Plastic Shot Glasses (2 oz condiment cups)
• Saucepan
• Measuring Cup
• Spatula
• Ladle with pouring spouts
• Shallow Baking Pan

How to Make Crown Apple Jello Shots

Step 1: Boil 1 1/2 cups of water in a saucepan.

Step 2: Remove the saucepan from the stove and add the green apple jello packet. Stir the jello until all of the powder is dissolved (may take up to 2 minutes).

Step 3: Pour in the Crown Apple whisky and mix well.

Step 4: Line up the mini shot cups in a shallow baking pan or similar container to make it easy to transfer the jello shots in and out of the refrigerator.

Step 5: Use a ladle (I have one like this ladle that has pouring spouts on each side) to fill each mini shot cup.

Step 6: Refrigerate for approximately 2 hours or until the green apple jello mixture is set up.

Step 7: Add garnish before serving.
