Fun, Comfort & Music at Diablo Creek House Concert Venue

Diablo Creek House Concert Venue

Englewood, Florida, hared between two counties Charlotte and Sarasota, is the new home of Pablo and Diana’s newest house concert venue Diablo Creek. The Sandbox (3 time nominated TRMA) house concert venue on Anna Maria Island is still owned/operated by Diana and Pablo. They do not plan on abandoning The Sandbox venue and will continue to showcase musicians as schedule permits.

Diablo Creek is a creative blended name as Diana explains “Because we are on a creek and Diablo is a combination of our names Diana and Pablo.” Located on Goldfish Creek off Redfish Cove allowing for boat owners attending an option of dock side parking. For those traveling by land, easy scenic roads get you right to the front door of the Diablo Creek house concert pool entrance.

Diablo Creek is a nominee running for TRMA 2017 House Concert Venue of the year. This venue comes complete with a full length bench in the pool, floats and half of the pool has a fabulous stage view. The screened in pool area also boasts an amazing tiki bar with enough seating for up to 30 people comfortably.

The yard area in front of the stage can seat up to 24 people under the mango trees. The main floor of the home is really on the second level of the structure. Having an outdoor platform elevator allows for quick chair and equipment access from being an outdoor show to an indoor listening environment.

The “Paul and Diana’s Tiki Bar” is where the magic of a blender and “Mongos” come together for Pablo’s famous “Mongaritas.” There is never a shortage of “mongos” as Pablo calls them, rather fresh or frozen from his trees. The famous “Pabloritas” have been a house concert favorite served at both SandBox and Diablo Creek.

A “Pablorita” starts with blender of ice, 6 shots good tequila, 3 shots triple sec, 1-2 cups margarita pre-mix and 1- 2 cups fresh fruit (mongos, oranges, pineapple, watermelon) whatever you have that works for you is how Pablo explained his recipe to me. The “Pablorita” is a taste of freshness that represents the venue very well.

Diablo means Devil in the Spanish language, but I assure you the only thing Devilish going on at this private Tiki Bar atmosphere venue is the indulging in great music, friends and “Pabloritas.” The moment you step into Diablo Creek you feel a need to kick off your flip flops and relax to the music.

There are many ways to find comfort at this venue from it’s large screened in pool/tiki bar area to the outdoor seating area under the mangoes. A real Florida gem spot to experience Diana and Pablo’s lifestyle sharing their home as a stage for many musicians.

“Music can heal so many and bring so many together” Pablo said as he flashed backed on many friends and memories. Diana reminds me of the 70’s Mama Cass – her passion for having a stage and friends coming together to enjoy music in a home atmosphere makes her so happy.

When I asked her how she handles the stress of hosting a house concert, Diana looked at me with a smile saying “Are you kidding me, I love this. I love the music and making connections with the musicians and everyone who attends our shows.”

I walked away from Diablo Creek with a complete understanding of it’s name and the people it joins together in music and harmony.
