These crispy Corn Flakes Chicken Tenders make an easy, filling meal. Simple to prepare and it’s a light and healthier dinner option.

The great thing about air fryer or oven-baked chicken tenders is you get the satisfaction of crunchy chicken without adding high calories. Traditional frying of chicken strips is certainly faster, but the high amount of trans fats absorbed by chicken isn’t the healthiest option for your family.

Corn Flakes chicken only needs a few main ingredients so the prep is easy. I buy the already cut chicken tenders but you could use small chicken breasts (adjust bake time accordingly). You’ll also need a box of Corn Flakes, table salt, 2 eggs and buttermilk.

The corn flakes crust is tasty on its own, but you can always add a variety of spices from your pantry to give the crust extra flavors.

How to Make Corn Flakes Chicken Tenders

To start, soak the chicken tenders in buttermilk for 30 minutes. This tenderizes the chicken and allows for the corn flakes to stick better.

Pour the corn flakes into a gallon-sized zip lock baggie, seal and crush the cornflakes into small bits. It’s easy to use your hands or a rolling pin to break up the cornflakes into tiny flakes. Lightly salt and pepper the cornflakes and add other spices you prefer to the bag and shake it to mix in the spices.

Crack 2 eggs into a bowl and whip with a fork.

Next, we coat the chicken tenders. Coat a piece of chicken with cornflakes, dip it in the eggs and then give it one more coating in the corn flakes. You can seal the bag and shake it to get a really good coating.

Oven-Baked Directions: Place the tenders on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking oil. Bake for 17-20 minutes at 350 degrees.

Air Fryer Directions: 7-8 minutes on each side at 400 degrees.
