How to Make Easter Magic Bars
These Easter cookie bars are so simple, you’ll have plenty of time to prepare for the rest of your holiday meal.
Step 1: Start by mixing graham cracker crumbs with melted butter.
You can buy them or take actual graham crackers and crush them into fine crumbs.
I’m all about the easy route so I buy the crumbs, but you can make your own. To make graham cracker crumbs, you’ll need approximately 12-15 graham cracker sheets to get 1 1/2 cups of crumbs. Process them in a food processor or place them in a zip lock bag and crush with a rolling pin.
Step 2: Prepare your baking pan by lining it with parchment paper. Then add your graham cracker crust, using a spoon to gently press the mixture evenly across the pan.
Step 3: Next, pour the smooth condensed milk evenly over the top of the crust.
Step 4: Now for my favorite step. Add the most important topping – chocolate chips!
Step 5: Here is where you could get creative with your additional toppings. Add a layer of chopped walnuts.
Step 6: If you love coconut, add a layer of coconut flakes.
Step 7: Add Easter M&Ms for the final top layer.
Step 8: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 25 minutes and let the Easter cookie bars cool completely (approximately one hour).
Step 9: Cut into squares and arrange on a serving tray.
Variations:
Add layers of flavor with your favorite toppings to make the perfect Easter dessert. Here are a few tasty toppings you can add to Easter Magic Bars:
- Peanut Butter Chips
- White Chocolate Chips
- Butterscotch Chips.
- Dried fruits such as cranberries or blueberries are tasty too!
How to Store Easter Cookie Bars
This easy Easter dessert is best stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Do store the cookie bars in a cool, dry place to prevent the chocolate from melting.
If you want to store them longer, these bars will last up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
Can I Freeze Easter Magic Bars?
Yes, M&M Easter cookie bars do freeze well.
If you want to save them for later, just place them in a freezer bag or airtight container and they will last for one to two months. When you’re ready to eat them, just take them out of the freezer and let them thaw at room temperature.
