What is Grinch Bark?

White chocolate with added green food coloring that is melted and spread out on a baking pan into a thin sheet of chocolate and topped with red hearts. Once the chocolate is cooled, simply break it apart into pieces and you’ll have Grinch Chocolate Bark.

Kitchen Tools for this Recipe

  • Baking Sheet
  • Double Broiler
  • Spatula
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

Chocolate bark recipes are so easy, anyone can make this perfect treat with just 4 simple ingredients.

You might notice this recipe does not use green candy melts. This is because I wanted to create a true chocolate bark instead of a melted candy bark. The chocolate is deliciously rich and makes amazing bark candy!

How to Make The Grinch Bark

Here are the quick and easy, step by step directions:

Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (you can also use wax paper).

Step 2: Melt the white chocolate chips over a double boiler. Add 1-2 inches of water in the bottom pot and place the other pot on top and add white chocolate chips. Use medium heat. As the steam melts the chocolate, stir it with a spatula until the chocolate is completely melted.

Note: You can use a microwave-safe bowl to melt your white chocolate chips. If you do this, heat in 30-second increments, stirring in between each heating session. The double broiler method is just as easy and is a much better way to melt the chocolate. The microwave method has a tendency to over heat the chocolate. If you do not have a double broiler, here is an excellent article on how to easily make a double broiler with the kitchen tools you do have.

Step 3: Remove the chocolate from the heat.

Step 4: Add 4 drops of green food coloring and 8 drops of yellow food coloring to get the vibrant green Grinch color. Stir well.

Step 8: Set aside to for an hour to let it set up.

How to Store Grinch Bark

Place it in an airtight container for up to 5 days (hard to believe it wouldn’t be devoured before then!). No need to refrigerate, this Christmas bark can be left out at room temperature.
