Guanabanas: A Tropical Dinner Vacation

Tropical Style, Woven Tiki Huts and an Island Atmosphere.

Amazing how a couple Jupiter surfers in 2004 decided to open their own sub shop under the great banyan trees and beautiful palms.  Gone is the sub shop and renovations began,  re-opening in Dec. 2008.   A new kitchen and a license to wholesale seafood this popular spot evolved into a tiki island style, 100% open air restaurant.   Now a tropical haven for dinning and one of the most popular “must see” restaurants in northern Palm Beach County.

This past January,  world renowned Chef Emeril Lagasse stopped in Guanabanas for two days of filming.  That’s right folks, Guanabanas is no longer a hidden happy hour and fine dinning spot.

Emeril Lagasse has made Florida his new full-time home.  His new show “Emeril’s Florida” appears on the Cooking Channel Sundays at 9:30/10:30 am ET and he’s added Guanabanas to his Florida show.

The enchanted entrance lined with adirondack chairs, palms and beautiful wood railing welcome you into this tropical Tahiti Tiki style environment.  As you enter, the over head branches of the banyan trees and woven tiki huts lure you into a tropical dinning journey.  Enjoy five different seating areas and the Banyan Bar.  Perhaps a cozy table by the rock waterfall might become your favorite spot.

Just stopping in for a quite cocktail?  Grab it at the bar and enjoy while sitting in an adirondack chair on the dock watching boaters come and go.  Lunch time is always a playful experience.  Take in the view and watch the kayaks, paddle boards and boats passing along the canal.

Family, friends and lovers of the islands are sure to enjoy the very inviting menu.  Fresh seafood to Cuban pork to steaks can all be enjoyed with sheer delight as you take in the evening sunset.  When the sun goes down the stage heats up with some of south Florida’s favorite bands, but the bar cools ya down with unique drink specials.

Guanabans was mentioned in my A1A adventures as a must visit on the east coast of Florida.  Believe me, it’s not just a restaurant, it’s a Tropical Dinner Vacation….

I live close to A1A and love this stretch of road that leads me to so many adventures! I'm perfectly situated between my two wonderful children. I love to visit my daughter in the FL panhandle and my son in Key West. I'm a Parrot Head and I love Trop Rock music!
