Back in Key West during the last Meeting of the Minds (annual Parrot Head convention), I kept hearing about the book Trop Rock artist Mark Mulligan wrote. It has a simple title, “The Three Miracles,” and doesn’t sport a flashy cover. What intrigued me the most was that Mark was donating all the proceeds to charity and I bought a copy for myself.

What did I find when I read the book? I found humor and a writing structure that had obviously been well planned. I also discovered that Mark opened his soul to readers. He has a tremendous amount of faith and as I read the account of amazing events in his life, I was inspired.

Mark has endured tragedy, loss and new beginnings in his adult life. His life has also been full of adventure and striking out on new journeys that most of us would be too timid to attempt. Through “The Three Miracles,” I saw how much of a family man he is and what a devoted friendship he can also display.

Many already know that Mark moved to the Sonora area of Mexico to live and work many years ago. I won’t give away any more details regarding what the “The Three Miracles” are, but he started a charity known as Castaway Kids to help indigent children in the area. He has now become very involved with Outreach for World Hope in Guatemala and the money from his book sales are going to help support that effort. He’s also leading a music/mission trip to Guatemala in October 2015. Contact Mark if you’re interested.

But back to the book… I highly recommend it as an easy and enjoyable read. You’ll chuckle and very likely, you’ll cry. You’ll also be struck with the depth of faith that Mark Mulligan has and what a truly fantastic person he is. Oh, and he’s not a bad musician, either, with eight albums to his credit! “The Three Miracles” can be ordered through Mark’s web page and can also be ordered via Amazon and Kindle. Read it an be inspired!

That book is very well written & well-paced. It’s a fantastic story of life-changing events and the power of faith! Sometimes life isn’t what we ‘script’–but it is always interesting. Mark has done a terrific job with a very difficult subject! We’re waiting for Book #2.
