Another Blast of Trop Rock Music at Meeting of the Minds
I can’t believe another MOTM has come and gone. It seems like I look forward to this trip all year and as usual, it’s over way to fast.
It was wonderful to see old friends once again on our favorite little island. Plus, I met new friends along the way that I can’t wait to see again next year.
Here’s a recap of some of our favorite events this year, unfortunately we couldn’t make it to all the happenings, so I know we missed some really great musical events and parties. Hopefully, we’ll figure out how to fit it all in next year!
- Koz’s Green World Gallery Bringing Trop Rock Music to Life: Seems like almost every Trop Rock musician made a stop into Koz’s to play a 45 minute set. Koz has his own talents, a painter with a unique style that will make you smile. Fabulous Duval Art Gallery and a neat little Trop Rock venue.
- Parrot Heads Party with Robert Earl Keen: REK (as fans refer to him) headlined MOTM this year. A huge crowd at the Casa sang along all night to some of his biggest hits and everyone got to play in the confetti. Fantastic show!
- Kelly McGuire’s Trop Rock Music Showcase: An all time favorite event during MOTM. Not an official MOTM event, but one of the best shows on the island. Read about why we think it’s so special!
- Parrot Heads Sail for DJ Jeff: Catamaran Concerts (Terry Riecken) put together over 15 concerts with Trop Rock musicians! Sailing out into the Key West harbor listening to original songs about escaping into a laid back lifestyle is one of the best ways to spend a few hours in Key West.
- 2012 Trop Rock Music Awards: Another entertaining show at the Casa Marina. Live music entertainment along with Trop Rock artists accepting well deserved awards. We’re proud of our genre!
Until next year…..

Bill - it's really a fantastic trip. I love the "sand bucket list" title. A bucket list with a tropical slant!
