Fall is all about pumpkin spice! Typically, pumpkin spice flavor is associated with the famous Starbucks latte, but it’s great for other drinks too. This Pumpkin Spice Margarita is a mash up of sweet and sour and it’s delicious!

Traditional margarita ingredients with the sweet pumpkin spice syrup is a surprisingly tasty combination.

Pumpkin Spice Syrups

Thanks to the popularity of pumpkin spice flavor coffee drinks, pumpkin spice syrup is now a thing. Unfortunately, availability is mostly seasonal.

September and October is when the fall seasonal beverage syrups hit the shelves. I’m a fan of Jordan’s Sugar Free Pumpkin Spice Syrup available here on Amazon. Despite it’s “sugar free” or “skinny” name, I think it has a good flavor. Plus, saving calories on cocktails never hurts!

Another good pumpkin spice syrup is Torani Purmade Syrup, Pumpkin Spice Flavor. It’s made with real pure cane sugar (so higher calories), but if you’re not a fan of artificial sweeteners the Torani brand is best.

Pumpkin Spice Margarita Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 2 oz Pumpkin Spice Syrup
  • Pinch of Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • Kosher Salt (optional)
  • Brown Sugar (optional)
  • Garnish Sprinkle of Cinnamon on top (optional)
  • Garnish Lime Wedge

Recipe Directions:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice, Pumpkin Spice Syrup and Pumpkin Pie Spice.
  • Shake well.
  • Rim your margarita glass with just Kosher salt or make a salty sweet mix by combining 1 tsp. Kosher salt with a pinch of brown sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • Fill your margarita glass with ice.
  • Strain mixture into the glass.
  • Optional: Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top and lime wedge

Tips:

  • For more robust orange flavoring and a less alcohol option, replace the Grand Marnier with 1.5 ounces of orange juice.
  • Add a little more Pumpkin Pie Spice to your margarita if you want a more distinct pie flavor.
  • If you’re a little freaked out by the mix of pumpkin spice flavors and salt on the rim, try this cinnamon sugar rimmer instead.

I love this mix of sweet flavors with the tequila and salt. No need to wait for Thanksgiving to try out this recipe. Fall is here and pumpkin spice is the season.

Enjoy!
