- 2 inch Semi Sphere Silicone Mold
- Microwave safe bowl
- A second bowl.
- Spoon or large pastry brush
- Large plate and a Small plate
- Pastry piping bag or Ziplock bag

Bailey’s Hot Chocolate Bomb Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to make this Bailey’s hot chocolate bomb recipe:
- 7 oz. Milk Chocolate Melting Wafers / Candy Melts
- 6 tbsp Hot Chocolate
- 3 ounces of Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur
How to Make Bailey’s Hot Chocolate Bombs
Step 1: First, grab a large plate and place it into the freezer.
Step 2: In a microwave-safe bowl, pour in chocolate candy melts and heat in the microwave 3 times for 30-second intervals, or until fully melted. Stir well between each heating session.
Step 3: Set your silicone molds on a baking sheet to support the mold and make it easier to move in and out of the freezer. Next, take your semi sphere silicone molds and using the back of a spoon or large pastry brush, coat all sides of the mold cavities with a thin layer of the melted chocolate.
Step 4: Place molds into the freezer for 5 minutes, and repeat to add another coat of melted chocolate. Chill for an additional 5 minutes until hardened.
Step 5: In a small bowl, mix together the Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur and hot chocolate mix. Stir until well blended.
Step 6: Remove the large plate and the chocolate-coated molds from the freezer. Gently separate the chocolate spheres from the mold by pushing them out from underneath. Make sure you push slowly to ensure the chocolate mold doesn’t crack.
Place the empty spheres onto the chilled plate.
Step 7: Next, heat the small plate in the microwave for 2 minutes.
Step 8: Remove the small plate and put one chocolate sphere upside down on top of the hot plate, moving it around to slightly melt the rim.
Step 9: Once slightly melted, add about 1.5 tablespoons of the liqueur and cocoa mixture to the half sphere.
Step 10: Take a second half-sphere and melt the edges in the same manner as above.
Step 11: Place the empty chocolate mold on top of the first one and gently seal them together.
Tip: The two chocolate molds hould fit well together. If there are any gaps, rub a little bit of melted chocolate over the area to seal it.
How to Decorate Bailey’s Hot Chocolate Bombs
Once you have all your boozy bombs sealed, it’s time to decorate them for the holiday season. These are perfect for any holiday, just change up the colors of the sprinkles to match the holiday theme.
Step 1: Scoop the remaining melted chocolate into a pastry bag or ziplock bag and heat in 20 second increments until fully melted.
Tip: Massage the bag between each microwave increments.
Step 2: Once melted, cut off a tiny piece of the corner on the ziplock bag and drizzle the melted chocolate back and forth over the top of the Bailey’s bombs.

There are a variety of chocolate melts you can use! Because Bailey’s Irish Cream pairs well with chocolate, milk, and coffee, then you could try caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, or even white chocolate candy melts. Think about what flavors go well with milk and chocolate. Then get creative!

Leftover hot chocolate bombs can be stored in the refrigerator. Simply wrap each one in parchment paper and place them in an airtight container.

- Put a large plate into the freezer.
- Pour chocolate wafers / candy melts into a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 30 second intervals, until fully melted. Stir well between each interval.
- Using the back of a spoon (or a large pastry brush) coat each of the mold spheres with a thin layer of the melted chocolate. Place into the freezer for 5 minutes, and repeat to add another coat of melted chocolate. Chill for an additional 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix Bailey's Irish Cream and hot chocolate mix. Stir well.
- Remove the plate and chocolate coated silicone mold from the freezer. Gently remove the chocolate coated half spheres from mold and place onto the chilled plate.
- Heat the small plate in the microwave for 2 minutes (will be hot, use a hotpad to remove from microwave).
- Place one chocolate coated half sphere upside down on the heated plate and move it around to slightly melt the rim. Add about 1.5 tablespoons of the Bailey's and hot chocolate mixture inside the half sphere.
- Place another chocolate coated half sphere upside down on the plate and move around to melt the rim, rubbing it around in the excess melted chocolate already on the plate.
- Place that half sphere on top of the other, and very gently secure the two together. If there are any gaps, simply rub a little extra melted chocolate along the seam to seal it.
- Pour remaining melted chocolate into a pastry bag or a ziplock bag and heat it in the microwave for 30 second intervals until fully melted, massaging the bag between each heating.
- Once the chocolate is melted, cut off the tip of the bag and drizzle melted chocolate on top of the Bailey's hot chocolate bombs in a back and forth motion.
- Top with sprinkles.
