Ingredients

All you need are a few simple ingredients:

VODKA: This is a drink you can use your favorite vodka, bu higher end Vodka the is always best. The smoother the vodka, the better this drink will taste (of course!). But with 2 fruit juices, the vodka is not a prominent flavor.

PINEAPPLE JUICE: Canned pineapple juice and canned pineapple chunks work great. If you want to step it up a notch, juice a fresh pineapple and cut fresh pineapple chunks.

ORANGE JUICE: For a screwdriver drink, use a no-pulp orange juice. If you’re squeezing fresh orange juice, strain well.

GARNISH: Maraschino Cherries, Pineapple Chunks, Pineapple Leaf, or simply garnish with orange slices or a slice of pineapple perched on the side of your highball glass.

How to Make a Pitcher for a Crowd

Everyone owns different size pitchers and punch bowls, so here’s the general directions:

STEP 1: In equal amounts, mix pineapple juice and orange juice together in a large pitcher.

STEP 2: For every 6-8 ounces of juice in the pitcher, add in 1.5 ounces of vodka. Stir well.

STEP 3: Fill cocktail glasses with ice.

STEP 4: Pour in the pineapple screwdriver mixture.

STEP 5: Add garnishes (orange slices are probably the easiest for a large crowd) and serve.

How is this Recipe Different than a Regular Screwdriver?

It’s simple, a regular screwdriver only uses orange juice. The Pineapple Screwdriver adds an extra fruity ingredient – pineapple juice!

Which actually makes it a smoother and sweeter drink.

Variations

  • If you’re not keen on adding orange juice, you can make this a simple pineapple vodka cocktail. Omit the orange juice and double the pineapple juice.
  • To make a stronger cocktail, you can use 2 oz of vodka instead of 1.5 ounces.
  • This is an easy cocktail to play around with until it meets your tastes. Add more of one or the other fruit juices to alter the flavor slightly.

Can I Make this a Frozen Cocktail?

Oh, absolutely! Simply mix all ingredients (except your garnishes) your blender. I use a Ninja Blender that is amazing. It crushes ice in the blink of an eye and even has a frozen drink setting so it comes out perfect every time!

Add 2 cups of ice and blend until you have a smooth frozen cocktail. Talk about deliciously refreshing!

This delicious cocktail is fun to serve for all kinds of occasions. It’s a perfect drink for your Mother’s Day brunch, game day gatherings or make it your signature drink for your next cocktail party. Or simply hang out by the pool or out on the back deck and relax with this sweet concoction.

There’s simply always a good reason to serve Pineapple Screwdriver cocktails!

Cheers!
