This Thanksgiving Mimosa is a drink that combines two popular fall mimosa recipes: cranberry mimosa and apple cider mimosa. This combination of fruity fall flavors makes a delicious cocktail for your Thanksgiving celebration.

Since you have both fruit juices you have all the ingredients to make several types of fall mimosa recipes. If a guest prefers, you can serve a cranberry mimosa or make apple cider mimosas. The best champagne for a mimosa extra brute champagne, which is one of the least-sweet champagnes. The scale from sweet to dry champagne can be quite confusing, as the names are a bit misleading.

The most import thing you need to know is you should use a Brut champagne in a mimosa. Extra Brut is the best with Brute as the second best.

The next option is Extra Dry, which is sweet, yet can still work in a mimosa. It’ll just be a sweeter cocktail. Stay away from Dry champagne, as it is quite sweet which can be overwhelming with the sweet fruit juices.

And sometimes the best option is to simply go with your favorite champagne. If you have a bottle of champagne you simply love, then it might be the best choice for your mimosa.

Can Prosecco be Used in a Mimosa?

Prosecco is a sparkling wine that is fruitier than champagne and gives the impression that it is sweeter. Prosecco is delicious and can be used in a mimosa, just look for a Brut Prosecco, which is less sweet.

How Much Does Champagne Cost?

Mid-range champagnes cost around $15-$25, and they can be used to make a delicious mimosa. And, there are cheaper options such as Cooks California champagne which is around $9 and Korbel California champagne which runs about $13 per bottle.

Can You Make Nonalcoholic Mimosas?

If you have a few guests who prefer a nonalcoholic version, this Thanksgiving Mimosa recipe is easy to adjust. Substitute champagne by using sparkling water, non-alcoholic champagne, lemon-lime soda or ginger ale (my favorite choice), which all work well for this recipe.

All you need are a few simple ingredients to create a full-flavored holiday cocktail.

  • Cranberry Juice
  • Apple Cider
  • Brut Champagne
  • Apple Slices (optional, for garnish)
  • Rosemary (optional, for garnish)

Here are the step-by-step directions for this easy recipe:

Step 1: Fill a champagne flute 1/3 of the way with Brut champagne.

Step 2: Pour in 1/3 cranberry juice.

Step 3: Top with 1/3 apple cider. Apple cider is tastier than using Apple juice because it includes fall spices.

TIP: This recipe calls for equal parts champagne and fruit juices. If you want a slightly stronger mimosa, cut back on each part juice so you can fit in a little more champagne.

Step 4: Add an apple slice on top and a sprig of rosemary for garnish. The rosemary is more optional, as it’s more of a festive touch than an important ingredient.

How to Make a Pitcher of Thanksgiving Mimosas

This recipe can be made in a pitcher to make serving them up for a crowd.

Step 1: Mix equal parts cranberry juice and apple cider in a large pitcher.

Step 2: Line up your glasses and fill 2/3 of your champagne flutes with the mixed juices.

Step 3: Top each glass off with 1/3 of champagne.

Optional Garnishes

  • Garnish with cinnamon sticks as it will go great with the fall spice in the apple cider.
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries. Wet them and roll them in sugar like I did in this Cranberry Rosemary Cocktail (they are delicious!)
