Tim Charron is “Chasing the Sun”

Tim Charron had a great first visit to Meeting of the Minds (official Parrot Head convention in Key West) a short time ago. He wasn’t there long, but he wowed his audiences with his brand of fun, tropically-inspired music. We sat down and talked about his music and what’s going on his life.

Tim is based out of Nashville, but spends much of the year in Florida and claims to have played pretty much every tiki bar in the Keys. His newest album is entitled “Chasing the Sun,” which he cleverly wove into much of our chat. Can you imagine “chasing the sun” most mornings on a paddle board in the blue waters of the Keys? Tim enjoys that privilege when he’s not touring and opening for big name acts.

And what big names has he opened for? My eyes must have bugged out before he got to the end of the list he gave me: Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Brent Michaels, Clint Black, Randy Travis, Crystal Gail, Chris Young, Justin Moore and the Eli Young Band were the names I scribbled down.

What is especially fun to me is that Tim’s second band show ever (when he was only 14 years old) was at his school. He came out to the theme song from “2001 – A Space Odyssey,” the same one that Elvis used to make his concert appearances. He’s still opening his shows with that iconic music and I’m thinking it may be a foreshadowing of the big name he will become in is own right!

Tim has a wonderful significant other named Nicole Nolan who helps him tremendously in this work, including his Tim Charon Fan Club, in which the members are dubbed “Charroniacs.” Tim and Nicole were recently in Costa Rica for “songwriting and surfing,” in his own words.

There were several concerts from the tropics that were broadcasted online in December via Stagit.com. Details are on his web site. Tim is currently on tour in Florida and he will also be participating in the “Trop Rock Music Festival at Sea,” in April with several other Trop Rock musicians. Don’t forget this name… Tim Charron has loads of talent and we’ll be hearing much more from him in the future!
