Story Behind the Song: “Barefoot” Reggie Starrett, “Sand Therapy”

Playing mostly in the Southeast area of the US, “Barefoot” Reggie Starrett is a fairly new name in the Trop Rock world. He recently collaborated with Donny Brewer on his new CD, but “Sand Therapy” was written by Reggie in 2013 and he credits his wife as co-writer. It is from Reggie’s album with the same name. Great song and you won’t find a nicer guy than Reggie! Here is Reggie Starrett’s Story Behind the Song:

So me and my wife were sitting outside at the Tiki bar one after noon wishing we could get to the beach some way, somehow… with kids in college and daily work schedule it seems impossible to even think about a “getaway”, much less how to pay for it.

My wife being in the health care profession, we started discussing how insurance pays for things that people don’t need, and what we really needed for some sanity was some “SAND THERAPY.” So after a lengthy political discussion (probably another song LOL!!) we decided we didn’t need any specialist to help out, just the beach and sand under our feet… with a beer in our hands… that’s all we need!!

And we both looked at each other and said, “there’s a song there!” Pretty simple solution for what most parrot heads need.
