The 2019 Parrot Head Rendezvous lineup is confirmed!
New artists and returning performers will entertain you while you’re feet are buried in the sand on the world’s most beautiful beach… Panama City Beach, Florida.

After hurricane Michael swept through the Florida panhandle in early October, the local Panama City Parrot Head Club has been focused on the cleanup and repairs of their homes and neighborhoods. A stressful time for area Parrot Heads to say the least.
Now, as the recovery continues, Rendezvous has a unveiled their new theme for 2019, reflecting on the best way to get through this difficult time:

Thursday, April 25th
|4pm Danny Rosado: First time appearing at Rendezvous, Danny is a little over two years into the Trop Rock music scene and has already received two Trop Rock Music Association nominations and a Trop Rockin’ Magazine People’s Choice Award nomination. Clearly, Danny has delighted audiences with his original songs and performances right from the start.|
|5:30pm Rick Lamb: For over 20 years, Rick Lamb has taken audiences on his Americana-Tropical ride as a singer/songwriter playing for Parrot Head Clubs and Trop Rock festivals. You may know him from his original band “Cruize Control” and now the lead singer for his band, “The Phin-Addicts” which rocked the stage at the Meeting of the Minds Street Fest in Key West. Solo or with a band, Rick is a Trop Rock star.|
|7pm Drop Dead Dangerous: Returning to Rendezvous are the lovely ladies of Drop Dead Dangerous. Lead singer/guitarist Kitty Steadman and percussion/vocals Melanie Howe create a powerhouse duo performing a mix of Southern Rock, Country and Trop Rock. Recently nominated in the Trop Rockin’ Magazine’s People’s Choice Awards as Duo of the Year, Drop Dead Dangerous are staples in the Trop Rock arena. Prepare to be charmed and captivated by this duo.|
Friday, April 26th
|10am Gene Mitchell: A Rendezvous favorite is returning this year. Gene Mitchell is a local to Panama City, FL and can be found playing weekly at Margaritaville. He’s recorded 14 Trop Rock albums, his most recent was released this summer, titled “Life on the Island” – a collection of songs about adventure, romance, beaches and island life.|
|1pm Tropicool: Tropicool is a trio combining Trop Rock artists Sunny Jim, Jimi Pappas and John Patti. Collectively, they have won 23 Trop Rock Music Association awards (Sunny Jim 16, Jimi Pappas 4, John Patti 3). Pretty impressive! Sunny Jim and Jimi Pappas will perform their original songs, harmonizing with each other while John Patti completes the trio’s island sounds with his skillful steel pan performance.|
|3:30pm/7pm/11pm Greg Dillard: Singer/Songwriter Greg Dillard received nominations from the Mississippi Music Awards, Artists Music Guild, and Trop Rock Music Association when releasing his very first album. During Rendezvous last year, Greg Dillard gave the attendees a surprise treat by performing a set of his Country-Island-Vibe original songs. This year, Rendezvous festival goers will enjoy even more of Greg’s laid-back style.|
|4pm The Bamboozlers: A great group of musicians, The Bamboozlers aren’t new to the Trop Rock music scene, you just might not know their name. For 10 years they were the Cedar Island Band and now have regrouped as The Bamboozlers and they also have a brand new CD for your Trop Rock collection.|
|8pm Jimmy and the Parrots: Two time winners of the Trop Rock Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year award, Jimmy and the Parrots are the highest energy band in the Trop Rock genre. Performing upbeat originals to Jimmy Buffett covers, their infectious bouncing and interactive songs will have everyone at Rendezvous dancing in the sand.|
Saturday, April 27th
|10am Bill Cockrell: Bill Cockrell is full of feel-good beachy tunes. A fantastic songwriter and a personality that shines on stage, Bill exudes the Trop Rock vibe with his sun drenched songs. The titles of his two CDs say it all – Aquaholic and A Dog’s Life – it doesn’t get anymore laid back lifestyle than that!|
|12pm/3pm/7pm JD Edge: JD Edge is a Country singer/songwriter and extraordinary musician. JD joined Southern Drawl Band in 2014 as the fiddle player where he’s been traveling the country performing at festivals with the band. In 2017, JD recorded his second solo album titled Living Free. His stories and songs are amazing with the band or flying solo.|
|12:30pm Jim Asbell and the Tropiholics: The Tropiholics are a fun band with a big sound. They’ve entertained Parrot Head Clubs across the country as well several large Trop Rock festivals. You’ve seen them at Meeting of the Minds, Music on the Bay and now coming back to Rendezvous. You’ll kick off those flip flops and shimmy in the sand.|
|3:30pm Donny Brewer and the Dock Rockers: Returning to Rendezvous is Donny Brewer with his full band. With 9 Trop Rock Music Association Awards (and up for 5 more this year), Donny has taken Trop Rock music to a new level. His skills as a musician, songwriter and performer are hard to match. Donny gets the whole crowd involved at his shows, be prepared for the fun.|
|8pm BeatleBeat: Jimi Pappas is bringing his BeatleBeat tribute show to Rendezvous. Re-creating the look and sound of the most famous rock and roll band in the world. BeatleBeat is comprised of four world class musicians who are all veterans of The Cast of Beatlemania, Legends in Concert and Disney’s British Invasion band at EPCOT.|
|>||11pm Trop Rock Lip Synch: Hosted by Donnie Brewer, the Trop Rock Lip Sync is a fan favorite event. Pick your favorite Trop Rock song and perform your lip synch routine. Props and costumes are always encouraged.|
Sunday: April 28th
|11am Dani Hoy: Singer/Songwriter Dani Hoy is the TropiGal from Key West. Dani recently released her third CD of her uniquely original songs. Mixing the Trop Rock escapism with sounds of Country to Blues. She’ll help you ease into your Sunday morning at Rendezvous.
|1pm Thom Shepherd/Coley McCabe: This Trop-Country duo are the sweethearts of Trop Rock. Thom is an award winning songwriter, you can hear many of the songs he’s written that other artists have recorded playing on Country radio today. Coley is a platinum-selling songwriter and has played on iconic stages such as The Grand Ole Oprey. Their vocals compliment each other perfectly and their performances are always entertaining.|
|3pm Jerry Diaz hosts Fools on Stools: Jerry Diaz is a 4 time Trop Rock Music Association winner and is a great host for this event. Fools on Stools is where the artists sit back and relax, banter with each other as well as the audience, tell their stories and play their songs. Always a memorable show and the perfect closing to Rendezvous 2019.|
