Why You’ll Love This Bloody Mary Board

Adds a Fun Twist to a Basic Bloody Mary: Give your guests customized topping options to spruce up their tomato juice cocktail. It’s a perfect board for a Bloody Mary theme brunch.

A Breeze to Put Together: This Bloody Mary shrimp cocktail charcuterie board is ready in twenty minutes! Yep, that’s all you need to shine at your next gathering.

Perfectly Customizable: Add what you have and leave out what you don’t. There’s no wrong way of completing a charcuterie board.

Variety of Flavors and Textures: This has to be the best part about a Bloody Mary bar board. From the tender shrimp to the crunchy crab legs to crispy veggies and soft cocktail onions, all these flavors meld together for the best cocktail.

Kitchen Equipment Needed

  • Small Bowls: Put your bite-sized ingredients, like olives, in small bowls to keep them from rolling off the board.
  • Cocktail Glasses: Pull your unique cocktail glasses out to serve your Bloody Mary. Use traditional Hurricane glasses or highball cocktail glasses.
  • Board: A wooden board provides a rustic touch, but you can use any platter or party tray that works for you. I’m using a white 16 x 12 tray (here’s a similar board on Amazon)
  • Sharp Knife: Slice up ingredients for your board.

On the Board Ingredients

Always use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and provide a variety of garnishes and mixes for different flavors.

LEMON AND LIME WEDGES: Lemon or lime juice adds a punch of freshness to the drinks.

OLIVES: From black to green olives – throw in an assortment of these salty bites on your charcuterie board. Blue cheese stuffed olives are a great addition too.

PICKLED VEGETABLES: Cocktail onions, jalapenos, dill pickle spears and pepperoncini all taste great with this classic cocktail.

VEGGIES: Celery stalks, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, green onion stalks, sweet peppers (grab a variety of colors), and cherry peppers (mildly sweet).

HERBS: You’ll also need a handful of cilantro and dill.

SHRIMP: Add tender, cooked shrimp. Remember to leave the tails on so they are easy to grab.

SURIMI SNOW CRAB LEGS: Surimi snow crab legs add an upscale snack to your board. These taste delicious when dipping them in the Bloody Mary mix.

BACON SLICES: Crunchy and salty, you can’t ever go wrong with bacon!

 Off the Board Ingredients

Include these larger ingredients off to the side of the Bloody Mary charcuterie board for guests to complete their cocktails:

VODKA: Choose a mid-range vodka that’s smooth and let your guests decide how strong to make their drinks.

BLOODY MARY MIX: Pick your favorite Bloody Mary mix for the base of your cocktails.

CELERY SALT: Guests can dip the rim of the glass in celery salt for an extra kick of flavor.

WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE: Include a bottle to the side for guests who love a meaty drink.

HORSERADISH: For those that love a spicy kick.

HOT SAUCES: Give your guests an option to spice their drink with a hot sauce. I recommend offering 2-3 different flavors for guests to choose from. I’m using chipolte sauce, a chili lime sauce and Tabasco.

OLD BAY SEASONING: This is delicious with the seafood snacks.

SALT AND BLACK PEPPER: For guests who like a little extra flavor and kick, but don’t want their drink spicy hot.

TAJIN SPICE: I’m using the “to-go” spice packets. It also comes in a regular seasoning jar. It’s the perfect spice for these drinks.

How to Make a Bloody Mary Charcuterie Board

  1. Cook your shrimp, crab and bacon. Set aside.
  2. Prepare all of your vegetables and fruit and set to the side. Wash and slice lemons, limes, celery sticks, etc… Pat dry dill pickle spears and cherry peppers so their juices don’t get on other ingredients.
  3. Fill ramekins with the cocktail onions, olives, and pepperoncini and place on your board.
  4. Add the celery, colorful sweet peppers, green onions, jalapenos, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, lemons and limes to the board.
  5. Place the shrimp, crab, and bacon on the board next.
  6. Fill in the holes on the board with the fresh dill and cilantro.
  7. Fill a carafe with the Bloody Mary mix and set all the “off the board” ingredients next to the charcuterie board.

Tips for Arranging a Bloody Mary Cocktail Board

  • Use ramekins for wet ingredients to keep their juices contained.
  • Add ramekins and larger items first, then fill in the board with the smaller garnishes.
  • Separate colors or types of ingredients for an overall pretty presentation.
  • Arrange colors and textures to create a contrasts between foods.

What Other Veggies Can I Add?

Pickled spicy green beans and asparagus are great options. People also enjoy baby corn or carrot sticks.

How to Store Leftover Toppings

Separate any leftovers and place them in an individual airtight container. You can also wrap them in aluminum foil or plastic wrap to ensure they stay fresh.

Leftover toppings are great for more brunch cocktails or a Bloody Mary salad the next day!

Put this impressive Bloody Mary charcuterie board on the table for special occasions like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or holiday gatherings. Enjoy your friends and family complementing on your gorgeous Bloody Mary board and their perfect tasting cocktails.
