This White Christmas Mojito is a delicious twist on the classic mojito that brings together the flavors of the holidays in a single glass.

A bit different than the typical recipe, this Christmas mojito is made with coffee creamer coconut creme. It’s sweeter and creamier than coconut milk. Add white rum with muddled mint and it’s refreshing, bright flavor is always a hit with friends and family for the holiday season.

What Type of Rum is Best for a White Christmas Mojito?

White rum is best for this Christmas white mojito. It adds that zing of alcohol without changing up the flavor of the coconut in the cocktail.

You will find a darker rum can really change up the color of the white but also the flavor, so stick with a light rum or even a coconut rum.

Kitchen Equipment Needed

  • Shot Glass or Measuring Cup
  • Muddler (I love this one from Amazon, the bottom of the muddler won’t scratch your glass)
  • Highball Glass, Mason Jar or Other Cocktail Glass of Choice

Recipe Ingredients

LIME: Lime juice is used to balance the rum and sweet coconut. You can also use a lime wedge for garnish.

MINT: Muddle fresh mint to release the mint flavor. The combination of mint and lime flavors makes this holiday cocktail crisp and refreshing. Save a sprig of mint for garnish!

WHITE RUM: I’m using Bacardi light rum for the boozy component in the drink. It’s subtle flavor doesn’t overpower the other flavors in the cocktail.

COFFEE CREAMER COCONUT CREME: Coconut creme coffee creamer is used for that velvety smooth texture and a sweet and rich coconut flavor. The traditional recipe calls for canned coconut milk, which is less sweet. You can use the one you prefer! I recommend using this coconut creme coffee creamer you can get on Amazon or your local grocery store.

CLUB SODA: Adds a bit of carbonation to the cocktail.

POMEGRANATE ARILS: Add pomegranate seeds on top for a vibrant and bold color and a sweet crunchy twist. They are very tasty!

How to Make White Christmas Mojito

STEP 1: Add 4 mint leaves into your cocktail glass.

STEP 2: Squeeze the fresh lime juice into the glass.

STEP 3: Muddle the mint leaves and lime juice together.

STEP 6: Garnish with a sprig of mint and pomegranate arils.

Recipe Tips

  • Don’t over muddle mint leaves. When muddling the mint it will release the oils that add mint flavor to the cocktail, but over muddling will create a bitter flavor.
  • You can use the back of a spoon to press the leaves to help release the oil if you don’t own a muddler (here’s an inexpensive muddler from Amazon).
  • You can add rum, club soda and coconut cream to a cocktail shaker to make the mixture. Then pour mixture over the lime juice and mint leaves.

Recipe Variations

  • Use coconut rum for more coconut flavors.
  • Add a splash of simple syrup or a tablespoon of sugar to add more sweetness.
  • Instead of pomegranate arils, you can garnish this Christmas mojito recipe with fresh cranberries for a pop of color to the cocktail.
  • Toast some coconut flakes and then dip the glass in corn syrup or fresh lime juice and roll the rim in coconut for added flavor to the drink.
  • Add lime wedges for garnish so guests can squeeze additional lime for a tarter flavor.
  • You can use coconut milk for a lighter, less sweet cocktail recipe.

Can I Make a Non-Alcoholic Version?

Use coconut water, coconut milk, or even extra club soda to replace the booze in the recipe.

This is a perfect way to create a non-alcoholic version for kids and those who prefer no alcohol.

You can adjust the ingredients to fit the preference of how sweet, and how strong of coconut you want.

How to Store Leftovers

This White Christmas Mojito cocktail is best served fresh. If you have leftovers you can place them in a large pitcher that is sealed and stored in the fridge.

Then when you go to pour the mixture, you will need to add more club soda for the carbonation as it will go flat in the fridge. Store it for 1-2 days in the fridge and hake well before you serve the mixture.
