BISCUITS: I’m using the jumbo canned biscuits, the flaky layer kind and they’re YUMMY! But I’ve seen people use bagel slices or english muffins to do the same thing. You can even swap this out for homemade dough or pizza dough.
PIZZA SAUCE: I’m using store-bought pizza sauce that comes in a jar. You can always make your own pizza sauce or swap it out for regular marinara sauce, alfredo sauce, bbq sauce, etc. to make various kinds of smaller personal pizzas.
MOZZARELLA CHEESE: Fresh mozzarella is the perfect cheese for pizza, feel free to swap it out or add other melty cheese alternatives if you’re a cheese fan.
PEPPERONI: Regular pepperoni, mini pepperoni, or turkey pepperoni, whatever you decide, simply cut it up into small pieces.
COOKED GROUND SAUSAGE: This is an easy way to use leftover meat from other recipes. I like to use Italian sausage.
NON-STICK OLIVE OIL SPRAY: Cooking spray is an optional ingredient, as most air fryers have a non-stick coating on the plate. But it will assist in keeping the mini pizzas from sticking as well as help in creating a crispy crust.
How to Make Easy Air Fryer Mini Pizzas
STEP 1: Start by preheating the Air Fryer to 350F while you assemble the pizzas. Or assemble the mini pizzas first and then preheat your air fryer for 2 minutes.
STEP 2: Layout the biscuit dough and use a rolling pin to flatten them and make an even surface.
STEP 3: Add your sauce of choice to the biscuits with a spoon and spread it out a little. Leave an edge of dough so it doesn’t run off the sides.
STEP 4: Sprinkle on mozzarella cheese and add your favorite toppings. Here I’m using pepperoni (I used a knife to cut them in quarters) and cooked ground sausage. Each pizza ends up with 1 full piece of pepperoni and 3-5 pieces of Italian sausage.
STEP 5: Spray your air fryer tray or air fryer basket with olive oil.
STEP 6: Place pizzas in the air fryer in a single layer and air fry for 5 minutes.
TIP: Make sure your pizzas don’t touch so the hot air can circulate around the whole pizza to get a crispy crust.
Once they are done, your pizzas should have a beautiful golden brown crust.
Serve and enjoy!
Once your air fryer mini pizza is ready, add your favorite condiments such as:
- Parmesan Cheese
- Salt and Pepper
- Red Pepper Flakes
How Long Do You Put A Mini Pizza In The Air Fryer For?
Mini biscuit pizzas have a cook time of 5 minutes in the air fryer.
The first time you’re making these, keep an eye on your pizza as it cooks to make sure you don’t overcook or under cook. There is no harm in opening the air fryer to check on your pizza’s progress.
The length of the cook time may vary based on the make and model of your fryer as well.
How To Store Air Fryer Mini Pizzas
Once you’ve cooked them, you can store them in plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or inside an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. If placing in a container, add parchment paper in between them if you need to stack them on top of each other.
You can also freeze an uncooked mini pizza with your favorite toppings in the freezer for up to a month. Wrap each whole pizza in saran wrap them place in a ziplock bag, remove any extra air and freeze flat.
For best results, remove the pizza from the freezer and let thaw. Then cook your frozen pizza in the air fryer according to the instructions above.
How to Reheat Mini Biscuit Pizzas
Toss your pizzas back in the Air Fryer for just a few minutes, about 3-4 minutes at 350F. Check them regularly so you don’t over cook them. You can use your oven to reheat as well, they will take a bit longer and you can also reheat your pizzas in the microwave but they’ll end up a little soggy.
Personally, the Air Fryer is the best method to get crispy pizza crusts and warm pizza through out. Just like a normal slice of pizza, you can eat it cold too!
