Kitchen Equipment Needed

All you need are a few basic kitchen tools:

  • Blender: I typically use this Ninja Blender because it crushes ice like a boss! But with these soft berries, I used a Blender Jet since they are super easy to blend.
  • Pitcher: Here’s my favorite pitcher from Amazon.
  • Glasses

Ingredients

Here’s the list of ingredients you’ll need to make 4 cocktails:

BLACKBERRIES: These juicy, antioxidant-packed berries add a sweet flavor to your margarita.

BLUE BERRIES: Only lightly sweet, blueberries bring a vibrant pop of color to your drink.

RASPBERRIES: With their tangy tart taste, raspberries complement the other berries.

TEQUILA: Choose a high-quality gold or silver tequila to provide a smooth, slightly sweet and citrusy flavor to your margarita.

GRAND MARNIER: An orange liqueur found in practically every margarita recipe. You can also use Triple Sec or Cointreau. Both have an orange base, but do taste slightly different.

SWEET AND SOUR MIX: A combination of tart lime juice and sweet simple syrup, this mix strikes the perfect balance. Use your favorite Margarita Mix!

COARSE SALT or SANDING SUGAR: For the rim of the glass. For this recipe, I’m going with the sugar rim, you can use coarse salt (Margarita Salt), but these berries taste so good with the sugar rim.

ICE: To keep it chill and create the frozen drink texture.

GARNISH: Add lime wedges and fresh berries for garnish.

STEP 2: Blend on “pulse” until the fruit and ice is blended.

STEP 3: Add the fruit mixture to a pitcher and pour in 3/4 cup tequila, another 1/2 cup of sweet and sour mix, and 1/2 cup Grand Marnier. Stir well.

STEP 4: Use a lime wedge to wet the rim of your glasses. Then dip the rims into sanding sugar or coarse salt. The choice is yours!

STEP 5: Fill your glasses with ice and pour your berry margarita mixture into the glass.

STEP 6: Garnish with fresh berries and a lime slice.

Variations and Recipe Tips

  • You can use frozen berries, but you might need to add additional simple syrup as frozen berries can be more tart than fresh berries.
  • Don’t have an orange liqueur? Add a splash or orange juice.
  • Is it too sweet for your tastes? Squeeze some fresh lime juice to your berry margarita.
  • You can add all ingredients to the blender for a slushy or frozen margarita.

This Berry Margarita recipe is refreshing with a blend of fresh berries, tangy lime juice, and smooth tequila. It’s the perfect drink to savor this summer.

Cheers!
