Ingredients

Ingredients for Halloween pudding shots displayed on a round cutting board.

BAILEYS: Enhance the flavor of the pudding mixture with Bailey’s Irish Cream. The Irish cream liqueur is a great twist to the chocolate flavor.

CHOCOLATE VODKA: I wanted to really honor the chocolate in these shots, so I’m using a chocolate-flavored vodka.

MILK: Using whole milk will offer the richest texture to the shots.

CHOCOLATE PUDDING: Instant pudding mix is the base for this creamy pudding shot.

WHIPPED CREAM: Use your local grocery store brand or Cool Whip. It will create a velvety texture like a chocolate mousse.

OREOS: Crushed Oreo cookies are garnish on top of the chocolate cream vodka shots. It adds a nice crunch to the creaminess.

GUMMY WORMS: The gummy bears are a fun decoration. It’s like the creepy worms are crawling out of the dirt.

How to Make Halloween Pudding Shots

Crush your chocolate sandwich cookies / Oreo cookies in a food processor. If you don’t have a food processor, place the cookies in a sealed bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

Next, Combine the Baileys, milk, whipped cream and pudding mix in a mixing bowl. Use a wooden spoon or a whisk to combine the ingredients.

Garnish with gummy worms before serving.

Recipe Tips

Make sure that you get your pudding fully thickened before you move on to adding the rest of the ingredients.

You can use almond milk, oat milk, or any other plant-based milk to replace cow’s milk if you need it. Make sure you are using cold milk.

Want to cut down on sugar? Feel free to use a sugar-free pudding mix if you would like a lighter version of this boozy shot.

Variations

Here are tips and ways to change up these tasty pudding shots. There are endless flavor combinations for you to try with these spooky shots.

  • Use different flavors! Swap out the chocolate with butterscotch pudding, vanilla pudding, pumpkin spice pudding mix, or any other flavor you love. Any pudding flavor works as long as it’ll go with chocolate.
  • Crush Nilla Wafers, graham crackers, or other cookies in replace of Oreo cookies.
  • Use Rum Chata in replace of Bailey’s in the recipe.
  • Swap the chocolate vodka with a whipped cream vodka or vanilla vodka.
  • Drizzle with melted chocolate on top for a more decadent rich flavor.

Can you Make Non-Alcoholic Chocolate Pudding Shots?

Go right ahead and leave out the booze in this recipe. Just make the pudding as you would, and then don’t add the alcohol to the recipe. This will make a kid-friendly treat.

You can still place in the disposable party shot cups for a fun presentation value. Then serve with small spoons.

How to Store Leftovers

Any of the pudding shots you do not eat can store in a sealed container in the fridge. Just place them in a covered container. They will store for 4-5 days.

You will find these shots don’t freeze well so I recommend eating these fun shots before they go bad.

Halloween Pudding Shots are the perfect way to kick off your Halloween party or fall gatherings.
