Ingredients

COLD AND BOILING WATER: You’ll need boiling water and cold water.

SONIC GREEN APPLE JELLO: A tasty sour apple flavor and it’s a green jello so it adds to the green color.

SMIRNOFF SOUR GREEN APPLE VODKA: Perfect match with the jello, Smirnoff makes an inexpensive sour apple vodka.

UNFLAVORED GELATIN: I use Knox unflavored gelatin but there are other brands typically available at your local store.

SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK: This is what gives the unflavored gelatin a sweet and creamy texture.

NEON GREEN GEL FOOD COLORING: Makes this witch’s brew bright and colorful.

GREEN APPLE POPPING BOBA: These are amazing! A green apple flavor that pops in your mouth. If you like fun ways to garnish jello shots, these green apple Popping Boba is the best.

 

Can I use Regular Vodka in these Jello Shots?

Yes, you can use regular vodka instead of the Sour Green Apple Vodka. Although, I think the best jello shots use a matching flavored liquor. The tastes meld together better.

If you want to use regular vodka, be sure to choose a quality vodka that doesn’t have a stout taste. A few of my favorite vodkas are Kettle One and Grey Goose.

Kitchen Tools

• Heat Safe Medium Bowl
• Whisk
• Pot
• Measuring Cup
• Baking Pan / Cookie Sheet
• Tablespoon
• 1 ounce Plastic Jello Shot Cups (these are the ones I use from Amazon)

How to Make Witches Brew Jello Shots

Prep:

Line up your plastic jello shot cups on a cookie sheet. The baking sheet will catch any spillage as well as make it easier to move the jello shots in and out of the refrigerator.

Bottom Green Jello Layer:

1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil and pour into a heat safe medium bowl. Add the green apple jello and whisk until completely dissolved.
2. Add 1/2 cup of cold water and 1/2 cup of Sour Green Apple Vodka. Whisk to mix all ingredients.
3. Use a measuring cup with a spout to fill each plastic condiment cup 3/4 full with the gelatin mix. Place in the fridge for 1-2 hours to set.

Top Creamy Green Layer:

1. Add 1/4 cup of cold water into your medium bowl and 1 unflavored gelatin pouch. Mix together and allow it to sit for 5 minutes.
2. Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil and pour into the unflavored gelatin mix. Whisk together until fully dissolved.
3. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup of sour green apple vodka. Stir together. Add 2-3 drop of neon green food coloring and whisk together again. Allow this jello mixture to cool to room temperature.
4. Then pour on top of the jello shots until the shot glasses are almost full. Place back into the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours to setup. Even better if you can leave them overnight so they are really cold.

Serving:

Just before serving, add 1 tablespoon of green apple popping boba for garnish on top of the Witches Brew Jello Shots.
