Blue Raspberry Jello Shots made with Vodka.
Jello shots have such a great party vibe and these blue raspberry jello shots are quite the novelty! Adult shots are great, but blue jello shots are just more fun!
They’re great for all kinds of summer parties. Think how fun these jello shots will be for your backyard gathering, tailgate events and pool parties.
With this fun blue color they are also perfect to serve up at your Memorial Day, Fourth of July or Labor Day gatherings. Pretty much any summer party!
I’ve slurped my share of jello shots mostly at Jimmy Buffett concert tailgating parties and I’m loving this blue raspberry jello shot recipe because the flavored vodka works perfectly with them.
Kitchen Equipment
Stock up on supplies because you’ll need to make more than one batch. There’s just something about colorful blue jello shots that makes everyone want to taste them.
- Saucepan
- Whisk
- Measuring Cup
- Baking Sheet / Cookie Sheet
Berry Blue Jello Shot Ingredients
Thankfully, berry blue jello shots are straight forward and a simple recipe. What’s the hardest part? Waiting for them to chill in the fridge before serving.
Here’s what you need:
- 3 ounce box of Berry Blue flavored jello
- 1 cup of boiling water
- 1 cup of alcohol – try it with Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka
- Mini plastic jello shot cups (2 ounce)
- Blue Raspberry gummies for garnish (totally optional)
- Drink Umbrellas are also fun and makes it easier to dig out the jello shot!
Note: If you want to make more shots from each batch you can use the 1 oz little cups instead of the 2 oz size.
Blue Raspberry Vodka or Regular Vodka?
For the best vodka for jello shots, I recommend using Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka. It’s easy to find and a very affordable vodka. Svedka flavored vodkas are great for the jello shots because they come in all kinds of fruit flavors. The peach, mango and pineapple are wonderfully tasty.
Yes, you can absolutely use regular vodka with berry blue jello but flavored vodkas in jello shots really do make a difference! The taste is smoother and more fruitful. It’s definitely worth matching up the flavor of jello with corresponding vodka flavors!
If you opt for regular vodka, choose a good vodka to keep this fruity cocktail smooth. You don’t want your jello shots to have a bite.

Jello Shot Garnishes
Blue Raspberry Gummies are sugar coated sweet and sour gummies that make a cute garnish and create this all-in-one cocktail appetizer. They add to the fun and pairing of all these blue raspberry flavors.
Other ideas for garnishes is to top them off with:
- Fresh raspberries
- Blueberries
- Maraschino Cherries
Garnish isn’t necessary! If you’d rather have straight up blue raspberry jello shots go for it.
Plus, if you’re carting them to a party or event, it’ll be easier to just snap the lid on the plastic shot cups and toss them in a cooler without a garnish.
Because of their gorgeous berry blue color, everyone is still so attracted to them. So, they’ll be a hit with or without garnishes.
You can also “dress them up” with a tropical drink umbrella. If you’re making these 4th of July jello shots at home, it’s a lot easier to make them super cute.
How to Make Blue Raspberry Jello Shots
Here’s how to make Berry Blue jello shots. Grab your pot, measuring cup and ingredients. These will be ready in a flash (except for the chilling in the fridge part, of course!)
Step by Step Directions:
- Boil 1 cup of water.
- Pour in the box of jello and turn off the stove.
- Whisk jello and water together until all the powder is dissolved.
- Add 1 cup of vodka (Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka preferred) and stir.
- Arrange your jello shot cups in a small pan or cookie sheet and pour the mixture into each cup.
- Place the jello shots in the fridge and let them chill for about 2 hours until they are set. Tip: Do not put in the freezer, frozen jello changes into a grainy texture when it thaws.
- Add garnishes and/or drink umbrellas.
Variations
- Don’t want alcohol? You can make them without alcohol just as easy. Simply skip the vodka and use water.
- Change out the garnishes or add whipped cream on top.
How Long do Jello Shots Last in the Fridge?
Jello shots are good for a couple of days (2-3 days), so you can make them a day or two ahead of time.
