• 3 ounce box of Berry Blue flavored jello
• 1 cup of boiling water
• 1 cup of alcohol – try it with Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka
• Mini plastic jello shot cups (2 ounce)
• Blue Raspberry gummies for garnish (totally optional)
• Drink Umbrellas are also fun and makes it easier to dig out the jello shot!

Note: If you want to make more shots from each batch you can use the 1 oz little cups instead of the 2 oz size.

 

Blue Raspberry Vodka or Regular Vodka?

For the best vodka for jello shots, I recommend using Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka. It’s easy to find and a very affordable vodka. Svedka flavored vodkas are great for the jello shots because they come in all kinds of fruit flavors. The peach, mango and pineapple are wonderfully tasty.

Yes, you can absolutely use regular vodka with berry blue jello but flavored vodkas in jello shots really do make a difference! The taste is smoother and more fruitful. It’s definitely worth matching up the flavor of jello with corresponding vodka flavors!

If you opt for regular vodka, choose a good vodka to keep this fruity cocktail smooth. You don’t want your jello shots to have a bite.

Here’s how to make Berry Blue jello shots. Grab your pot, measuring cup and ingredients. These will be ready in a flash (except for the chilling in the fridge part, of course!)

Step by Step Directions:

1. Boil 1 cup of water.
2. Pour in the box of jello and turn off the stove.
3. Whisk jello and water together until all the powder is dissolved.
4. Add 1 cup of vodka (Svedka Blue Raspberry Vodka preferred) and stir.
5. Arrange your jello shot cups in a small pan or cookie sheet and pour the mixture into each cup.
6. Place the jello shots in the fridge and let them chill for about 2 hours until they are set. Tip: Do not put in the freezer, frozen jello changes into a grainy texture when it thaws.
7. Add garnishes and/or drink umbrellas.

 

Variations

• Don’t want alcohol? You can make them without alcohol just as easy. Simply skip the vodka and use water.
• Change out the garnishes or add whipped cream on top.

How Long do Jello Shots Last in the Fridge?
