If you want to get more jello shots from a single batch, you can opt for the smaller 1 oz jello shot cups. But, I like the 2 ounce mini jello shot cups as you get a good amount to really taste these tropical jello shots.
Should You Use Coconut Rum or Light Rum?
Coconut rum such as Malibu or Parrot Bay are what makes these a Blue Hawaiian Jello Shot.
But if you’re not a coconut fan, then use a light rum / white rum. You’ll still have delicious jello shots with a berry pineapple flavor.

How to Make Blue Hawaiian Jello Shots
Here’s how to make Blue Hawaiian jello shots. Grab your pot, measuring cup and ingredients. These will be ready in a few simple steps.
Step by Step Directions:
Step 1: Heat up 1 cup of pineapple juice to a medium heat on the stove. Don’t boil the juice! At medium heat, the juice will be hot enough to dissolve the powdered jello.
Step 2: Once heated, remove the juice from the stove and pour in the pineapple jello packet. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved.
Step 3: Once the pineapple jello is completely dissolved, pour in 1 cup of coconut rum.
Step 4: Add 1/4 cup of Blue Curacao. Stir well.
Step 5: Arrange the mini shot cups in a shallow baking pan or a muffin pan. You can use anything that will make it easy for you to transfer the jello shots in and out of the refrigerator.
Step 6: Pour the mixture into the mini shot cups. Place the shots in the refrigerator and leave them until the jello sets up.
